A revival of "Noises Off" starring Susie Blake, Peter Egan and Patricia Hodge opened October 5 at the National (44 20 7928 2252) to excellent reviews. A West End transfer is expected early next year.

The playwright, Michael Frayn, also wrote the award-winning play "Copenhagen", now booking through April 29, 2001, at the Duchess Theatre (44 20 7494 5075).

A new production of David Hare's "The Blue Room" is now at the Haymarket Theatre (44 20 7930 8800)through Nov. 25. A transfer from Chichester, this production stars Michael Higgs and Camilla Power.

The original production of "The Blue Room" starred Nicole Kidman, who may be returning to London next year in the National Theatre's revival of Ibsen's "The Lady from the Sea."

The Almeida Theatre's production of "Lulu" starring Anna Friel has been cancelled, perhaps to be seen in the West End in the spring.

"Japes", a new play by Simon Gray, may arrive in early 2001. It opens in Colchester in November, starring Lia Williams, Toby Stephens and Jasper Britton. The story is about two brothers who fall in love with the same woman.

Corin Redgrave stars in two plays based on the works of Oscar Wilde-"Extremis and "De Profundis". In rep at the National (44 20 7928 2252) beginning Nov. 3. Co-directed by Redgrave and Trevor Nunn.

Harriet Walter joins Mark Rylance and Imelda Staunton for the premiere of "Life x 3", the latest play by Yasmina Reza ("Art", "The Unexpected Man"). Opening in December at the National.

"Singing in the Rain" returns to the National from Dec. 18-Jan. 27, 2001.

Next year will see Brendan Fraser starring in Tennessee Williams' "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" directed by Anthony Page. No venue yet.

Theatrenet reports that the premiere of a previously unpublished play by Graham Greene, "A House of Reputation" will be performed at the Theatre Royal Windsor this fall with a possible West End transfer to follow. The play deals with a regular brothel goer who falls in love with one of the employees, with the underlying theme of legalizing brothels. The play was due to be performed in New York years ago, but it was thought the subject was too controversial at the time.

Negotiations are reportedly underway for "The Green Bird", directed and designed by Julie Taymor, to arrive in London next year.

Lindsay Duncan stars in "Mouth to Mouth", a new play by Kevin Elyot at the Royal Court Theatre (44 20 7565 5000) beginning Feb. 6.

"Far Away" by Caryl Churchill will be at the Royal Court from Nov. 23-Dec. 2.

The Arts Theatre (44 20 7836 3334) in Covent Garden was officially named a West End Theatre, making productions eligible for the annual Olivier Awards. A revival of the award-winning "Another Country" is booking there to Dec. 9.

"French and Saunders: Live" caps a regional tour at the Hammersmith Apollo (44 870 606 3400) from Nov. 6 -18. Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders star.

Booking is now open for the revival of "Long Day's Journey into Night" starring Jessica Lange and Charles Dance. Previews from Nov. 6 at the Lyric Theatre (44 20 7494 5045) . Officially pening Nov. 21 for an initial 4 month run.
