A reviewer, September 14, 1999
Excellent quick reference of anyone visiting
Paris!
We used the second edition of this book while
walking and driving around Paris during a recent
vacation. It fit conveniently in my pocket and
was invaluable when navigating the sometimes
confusing one way street system. The second
edition lacked a metro map, but was complete in
every other way!

Read this book before you go
Like most people, I didn't pay a lot of
attention in world history class. If you ever
slept through a lecture on the French
Revolution, you should read this book. It looks
dry, but is actually very witty; the author has
a fine sense of irony. You can't help but
snicker at the author's detail of the...

Hoofing it through Paris couldn't be more
fun!
Gilles Desmons has crafted a combination
Parisian history overview / scavenger hunt! We
had such fun - and got such good exercise -
taking many of these walks. I recommend it to
everyone traveling to Paris, and wish that there
were similar books for other destinations.
